The art critic Ingrid Wenzkat (1933-2020) was an important mediator of art from Dresden. As head of the culture section of the daily newspaper "Die Union", she passionately and expertly followed and accompanied the artistic work of many local artists for decades. Testimony to these close ties are numerous works from her estate, which she bequeathed to the Städtische Galerie Dresden.
