The volume was published on the occasion of the 2014 exhibition of the same name with contributions by Markus Gabriel, Gerhard Gamm, Steffen Huck, Lyle Rexer, Anna Schinzel and Michael Stoeber. Stefan Heyne's photographs are non-representational - deliberately and emphatically so. He leaves out what generally characterises photography, renouncing any identifiability of the motif. Heyne takes abstraction to the extreme in his photographs, reducing his images to a blurred interplay of light and shadow, with a complete openness of form. These images confront the viewer with the endless depth of space, with infinity.
