With Angela Hampel, the Städtische Galerie Dresden is honouring one of the most important female painters in the Federal Republic of Germany. Life and death, animals and humans, the relationship between man and woman are the themes with which the artist negotiates existential content. For the exhibition, we have brought together key works from her oeuvre from the 1980s to the present day, including paintings, drawings, prints and two large installations. In our project space, we are also showing prints by the artist.
The exhibition was created in cooperation with Prof. April Eisman, College of Design, Iowa State University.
Supported by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony. This project is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
