Bernhard Kretzschmar (1889 - 1972) was one of the most striking artistic personalities of the 20th century in Dresden. He shaped the art of Post-Expressionism just as much as he gave the painting of New Objectivity a colouristic side. He continued to develop Dresden colourism right up to his late work. The exhibition honours Bernhard Kretzschmar's artistic work and takes a look at it from its beginnings around 1915 to the late period around 1970. It places painting and printmaking at the centre of the exhibition.
