The exhibition brings together paintings by the painter Theodor Rosenhauer (1901 - 1996) and sculptures by the sculptor Werner Stötzer (1931 - 2010). The focus on the elemental links the works of the two artists, who belong to two generations.
Rosenhauer's focus is on the depiction of people, often children. A second thematic focus is the still life, in which bread became the central motif. Werner Stötzer's basic theme is the human body. The examination of the nude and the torso takes up a great deal of space. Both artists are concerned with giving artistic form to the essentials of human existence. The master of colour and the master of stone touch on fundamental themes of existence in their depictions.
