From the former Friedrich Bienert Collection – New acquisitions for the graphic art collection

With the support of the Ernst von Siemens Kunststiftung, the Kulturstiftung der Länder and the Sächsische Landesstelle für Museumswesen, we were able to acquire an extensive collection of works of classical modernism from the former Bienert Collection. In addition to the portfolio of prints by the Dresden Secession - Group 1919, which was already presented as part of the special exhibition "Signal zum Aufbruch!", these include works by Otto Dix, Conrad Felixmüller and Emil Nolde. Further drawings and prints by Albert Wigand, Josef Hegenbarth and Fritz Maskos, among others, were donated to the Städtische Galerie. The acquired works will be presented in a special exhibition.
