The artist Isabelle Krieg brings the big questions of our existence and finiteness so precisely and succinctly into our small everyday world. Unexpectedly, the big picture is revealed in the midst of banal concerns. Faces appear in used coffee cups, flatbreads bring forth moons, a "primal cord" questions the beginning of the world. Isabelle Krieg's objects and works on paper invite us to take a closer look and question ourselves.
Swiss artist Isabelle Krieg, born in 1971, attended the Scuola Dimitri in Verscio/Ticino and the Lucerne School of Art and Design in the 1990s. After living in Berlin, Rome and Zurich, she has lived and worked in Dresden and Zurich since 2013. The exhibition is a satellite of a major solo show by the artist at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn.
