In our "New Gallery" series, we are presenting current works by Manuel Frolik (*1979). The extremely versatile artist was a master student at the HfBK Dresden until 2013 and works with sculptural objects and photography. Above all, however, he has realised a series of remarkable film projects in recent years. His latest production, the 25-minute short feature film "Tribe of Yola", is at the centre of our presentation. As in many of Frolik's works, it is a poetic exploration of themes of childhood and play. Against the backdrop of a dystopian landscape, an enigmatic plot unfolds in a balance between necessity and play, freedom and danger.
