There are no new ideas, there are only ever new transformations and combinations of the familiar. And anyway, there is no need to reinvent the concept of quality! Paul Pretzer, a master student of Ralf Kerbach until 2009, paints in a virtuoso and thoroughly traditional manner. His pictorial objects may appear whimsical and sometimes superficially humorous, but this draws the eye all the more to compositions, colour, light and sophisticated pictorial solutions in which art history flashes up everywhere. In the exhibition, we present paintings by Paul Pretzer from the years 2007 to 2013.
