The Städtische Galerie Dresden presented Ralf Kerbach, one of the most important painters in Dresden. The exhibition focussed on the mostly large-format paintings that the artist created during the years of upheaval in the 1980s and 1990s.
Ralf Kerbach's most important paintings from this period of upheaval were collected from museums and private collections for the exhibition. These included several works from the Görlich Collection, Bonn/Rosenheim. The Städtische Galerie Dresden has succeeded in acquiring numerous paintings and works on paper by Ralf Kerbach from this private collection on permanent loan to the city of Dresden. This gave visitors the opportunity to discover previously unknown major works by Ralf Kerbach.
