Johanna Seidel is another graduate of the HfBK Dresden. Born in Sebnitz in 1993, the artist studied there under Peter Bömmels and Anton Henning. For her dreamy and suggestive portraits of modern female figures, the artist has developed her very own painterly signature. A delight in the opulently ornamental, sometimes a flirtation with the naïve, as well as quotations and allusions from art history are juxtaposed with a mix of cool and casually staged everyday scenes and sometimes enigmatic symbolism.
