Angela Hampel is not only a painter and draughtswoman, but has also created an extensive body of graphic work. We have therefore decided to dedicate a separate exhibition to her prints in our "Neue Galerie" project space.

We are presenting a selection of graphic works from the years 1984 to 2017. Angela Hampel's undiminished intensive preoccupation with couple relationships over the decades is striking and she explores their wide range - from affection and passion to mistrust, envy and violence. As in her paintings, she also draws on mythological and biblical figures in her prints.

Another important theme in Angela Hampel's graphic work is the relationship between humans and animals. Hybrid creatures such as horned creatures, figures in plumage or humans in close contact with snakes and fish appear time and again.
