In his search for parameters for the perception of images, Berlin-based photo artist Stefan Heyne (*1965) questions the basic principles of photography in his mostly large-format works. By not making sharpness and recognisability the content of the image, he breaks with conventional viewing habits. For the first time, the Städtische Galerie Dresden has realised an expansive, architecture-related work in the artist's oeuvre. In the installation "The Enlightenment", visitors are confronted with infinity through the principle of blurring.
