Collection

With over 25,000 volumes and periodicals, there is an extensive range of literature on central aspects of Dresden's past and present.

With publications on art and artists from the city and the immediate region as well as exhibition catalogues, the library offers a wealth of interesting information on the art, culture and economy of the Saxon metropolis. The oldest books in the museum library date back to the 17th century.

Opac

The library holdings can be researched via OPAC or sent by e-mail / telephone. On Thursdays, reserved literature can be consulted in the library's reading room by appointment.

Reading room

The reading room is located on the first floor of the Landhaus and can be reached via the Landhausstraße museum entrance.

We are happy to make it possible for users with limited mobility to visit the library after prior notification by email or telephone.

The reading room has:

  1. WLAN
  2. six workstations
  3. a computer workstation for research in the OPAC
  4. Microfiche reader
  5. reference works
  6. journals relevant to the collection and current periodicals

DIGITized copies

For our users, individual journal articles, articles or title pages from the library collection can be digitised on request for private and non-commercial use. We are happy to receive your enquiry on site or by E-Mail.
